You have all my love and best wishes for a long and happy marriage.

Beautiful story, told beautifully.
It shows that you love each other, but more importantly, it is evident that you really LIKE each other! LIKE will get you through times that even love can't. (I speak from over 40 years of experience.)
I pray that your life together will continue to be filled with love and LIKE and that it will last for ever and a day.

For those who want to stay at the beach, we LOVE us some Shutters. Just give yourself and hour to get to the venue. It's a beautiful drive.
Saddlerock is in the mountains (not beachside) so Agoura Hills will give you a more accurate weather report.
Courtney and Kim are registered at Bloomingdales. www.bloomingdales.com
Naima and I met when we were about 5 years old. Our mothers had become friends through the Association of Black Women Physicians and realized they had daughters that were about the same age. In fact Naima and I were born less than a week apart (Taurus' in the house). Her mom has unoffically adopted me as her third daughter. Since the age of 5, Naima has been one of my very best friends. We have hung out together, suffered through Jack and Jill events our parents made us go to, traveled together on family vacations, taken cross country road trips and celebrated life's milestones together...ask anyone who was at our joint birthday parties!
Naima is an assistant Curator at the Studio Musem in Harlem New York. It is an amazing place so check it out if you've got a second! www.studiomuseum.org
Sara and Courtney met at Berkeley and were housemates after college until Sara left for the Peace Corps. Courtney was Sara's Maid of Honor last summer at her gorgeous wedding in Sara's native Sonoma County, California. When Sara is not listening to Courtney talk about the perfect shade of champagne, she is typically in West Africa implementing public health programs. Sara lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband Mike O'Sullivan (all around hunk and hero).
Heaven is really special to me. She and I went to pre-preschool together at the age of 2! All through preschool and kindergarten people thought we were sisters, and over the last 28 years she has been just that...a sister. Even though she's younger than me she's like a big sister, always setting an example for me. She is an all around DIVA and one of my best friends.
Heaven and her husband McKinley have a one year old son named Hezeki who is quite a charmer (but look out for his pitching arm). Heaven is a Facility Administrator at DaVita dialysis centers. In her spare time (as if any mother of a toddler has spare time) she is helping with her mother's breast cancer foundation to promote awareness and prevention in minority communities. Remember that train ride from the "Our Story" section? Well, when Kim and I got off of the train in Bologna, we went straight to our hotel where me met Cyndi, our 3rd roommate. We have been the three musketeers ever since. Kim and I both wanted her for our bridesmaid but I won. Yay me. Cyndi is a business litigation attorney in San Francisco, California where she lives with her partner Thanos (brilliant, principled and perhaps in the mafia) and their beautiful baby girl, Daphne, our tambourine girl.
Courtney's lovely boss, Humberto Gray, and his darling wife, Maria, have graciously opened their home for a casual backyard boogie the afternoon before the wedding. Join us for tacos, sangria, music and good company. Bring the kids and swimsuits if you are so inclined.
TIME: 1-5 pm
Courtney & Kim
PS. The Gray property abuts the Getty Center, so if you are museum inclined, check it out before the shindig. :) www.getty.edu

Saddlerock Ranch is deep in the Santa Monica Mountains. Whether you approach the venue from the San Fernando Valley or Santa Monica, please give yourself an hour or more. If you take PCH, you may want to give yourself even more time due to the holiday beach traffic.
The venue is 20 minutes from The Four Seasons Hotel.
Ladies (and certain gentlemen), both the ceremony and reception are outdoors in the grass. Choose your heels accordingly.
Thank you for your love and support.
Aren’t those photos a trip? Ah the good old days.
The photos to the left reflect our core family identity; our starting points. My, how we have grown since then. So, to our fabulous step-moms, Jean and Mimi, ah-ma-zing-in-laws, clever nieces and brilliant nephews, we love you, we are so grateful that you have joined us and we cannot wait to celebrate our wedding, marking the addition of one more ah-ma-zing girl (and her entire crazy family) to the mix. (You’re gonna love her).
To all of the family that came before us - the pioneers, adventurers, rebels, patriots, gentlemen, and scoundrels (Kim’s were mostly gentle, we had guns mostly) we thank you for your sacrifices, triumphs and missteps.
To Kimberly’s grandmother, Ms. Nita, how we cherish our visits, dances, sing-alongs, ice-cream runs and Nitaisms. At 97 you will definitely be the Monarch Butterfly of the Ball.
To our departed grandparents: Goodie, Clarence Sr., Evie, Tommy, J.D., Flossie, Geraldine, Tad and Daisy, we feel you everyday and hear what you are trying to tell us.
These are the good old days.
Oh, and speaking of core family... Kim, come September 2nd, it's you and me, kid.
It all started on a train. We were traveling from Florence to Bologna for a study abroad program. (Remember to ask Courtney about the band of Jesuit priests later). I couldn't tell you how long that train ride was, but we couldn't stop talking and by the end of it, it was pretty clear we would be friends for life. It's funny how life presents a revelation like that - like this person is going to be really significant - all the while you don't know the half of it. I guess we had some growing to do before we'd realize what was right in front of us. Five years later... I wrote Courtney a letter. The very next day Courtney wrote me back. A year and a half later, Courtney proposed. What can I say...they were really good letters.
She's got this hair, you see. And freckles on her nose. She defends the least with the best - fights each battle (even the losing ones) with equal grace and kindness and wit and charm and laser sharp litigation skills, she runs to do chores so that they are done more quickly, she's got space next to her big toes for more toes, when she is slow to do something her excuse is that she's got little legs, her childhood penchant for bacon has never subsided (saying the words bacon wrapped bacon will always get a smile), she sings - though the words are never as written, she's patient, her moral compass is pretty darn sharp, she cannot bypass any opportunity to be there for a friend or a stranger, she's loyal, her family is her life - her brother her hero, her mom her champion, her grandmother her spirit and her nephew her heart. She loves her father as much as I love mine (that's a whole lot), she has really good posture so that we typically appear to be the same height, I am trying to get Moosey (Kim's best stuffed pal since her legs were really little) an invitation to the big day but mom worries he is too delicate to travel, time slows around her, she always gives the benefit of the doubt, she is quick to forget the bad things and hangs on with all her might to the good. I love her something awful. I hope she never changes one hair. And that is just a thimble full of her and what I mean by amazing.
Courtney is the youngest of five children. She grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from Palisades High School. After Pali, she packed up her car and headed for the Bay Area. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley (GO BEARS) in 2000. Courtney spent two years in San Francisco investigating death penalty cases for the Habeas Corpus Resource Center before deciding to go to law school. Although her heart was in San Francisco, she retuned to Los Angeles for law school...best decision she ever made, because that's where she met me!
Now Courtney practices Immigration and Nationality Law in Brentwood. When she's not helping people realize their "American Dream," she's and I are soaking up new experiences through art, film and traveling around the globe. No matter what she's doing, she makes me smile.
Dear Family and Friends,
We can't wait to celebrate with you. In the meantime, this book contains travel information and other assorted goodies.
See you in September,
Courtney and Kim
